The “In Our Own Time” Project

Throughout history, the Arts have played an important role in youth culture, providing us with a platform from which to express our views, anxieties and aspirations. Working with a professional choreographer, we decided to create snapshots of the 1920s, ‘40s, ‘60s, ‘80s and today’s popular culture.

Our project included all of these activities:

  • Research at Swansea Library
  • Two days residential at Dan-y-Coed House, Swansea
  • A team-building walk on the Gower
  • Group visits to the National Waterfront Museum,
Swansea Museum and the Taliesin Arts Centre
  • Dance Workshops
  • Graphics, IT and Art Workshops
  • Dance performance and exhibits at the launch of the National Waterfront Museum
  • Video of project work
  • Acquired new skills and qualifications
