Valley and Vale Community Arts worked with a group of young people at the Torfaen Opportunities Centre, TOGs, on this project. The group we worked with, Torfaen Activities Group (TAGs), are a unique group of young people with disabilities who meet up regularly and take part in a wide range of arts activities, sports and trips. The group have lots of interests, for example, climbing, painting, wildlife and nature, and this came across during the project.
For this On Common Ground Project the group worked with Valley and Vale media facilitators Amy Peckham and Sophie Cobb, learning how to take photographs, interview each other, make a video, and create a display for the Centre. The group were encouraged to creatively explore their local environment, looking at their world and each other through a lens and making decisions about how they wanted to be represented.
