‘Dadeni’

Aberdare Girls' School

A group of young people from Aberdare Girls’ School joined with artist Sean Harris, poet Iwan Llwyd, musician John Kenny and a team of archaeologists from Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales, in exploring the history and legend surrounding the Museum’s collections of bronze and iron age objects discovered at Llyn Fawr, which is situated in a neighbouring area of the School, and Llanmaes in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The young people, artists and archaeologists have come together to produce a unique animated short film, ‘Dadeni’ (Rebirth), which fuses the remarkable archaeological collections from Llyn Fawr and Llanmaes with rousing ancient tales.

As part of the film’s official premiere, the young people worked together as live guides at National Museum Cardiff, escorting visitors and guests around the Museum’s archaeological galleries, exploring new ways and techniques of presenting their work and the collections to their audience.
