‘School’s Out’

Bedwellty School

Four girls from Bedwellty School took the trip to The Museum of Welsh Life at St Fagans. They listened, participated and jotted as they were told about life at school in the 'old days'. Back at Bedwellty and armed with this knowledge, they wrote scripts expressing their feelings about the school's impending closure. "If they did speak Welsh they were punished", and "the teacher went round with a tape measure to check that the skirts were the right length", were just a couple of themes of interest. Staff from the School and the Elliot Colliery Winding House Museum supervised as the girls rifled through pictures from the past to help bring their own personal digital stories to life.
